VBUG Midlands: What's New in .NET 4.0

Overview: Come listen to Dave give an overview of the new features in .NET 4.0. What will he talk about? Even he doesn't know yet, with the next version in technical preview and new functionality surfacing with every release. There's bound to be something about ASP.NET 4.0, something about Visual Studio and the great new changes they're building into it, but beyond that, it's anyone's guess. Dave Sussman is an independent trainer, consultant and writer. Dave is a Microsoft MVP, a member of INETA Speakers Bureau and the ASP Insiders. a body of industry experts that advises the ASP.NET team. He has spoken at many conferences, including Microsoft ASP Connections, TechEd and PDC and is a regular and community events around the UK.

This will be a session based upon practical solutions and not a best practices or text book view of indexing. Topic: Peter Morris presents domain driven design approach, with unit testing.
Overview: 01: Create a business model using a UML tool. 02: Generate the code for the model. 03: Generate the DB from the model. 04: Write some unit tests for a class or two using Rhino Mocks, Inversion of Control to control the environment of the tests. 05: Show the objects being used from an ASP.NET / WinForm GUI, both if I have time. 06: Change the model. 07: Update the code. 08: "Evolve" the database. Peter has been a professional programmer since 1994 and has been using DDD type approaches since 2001. DDD designed CRM app released for Imperial Tobacco approx 6-8 months ago which is working very well. Handheld Pocket PC app deployed over 2 years ago.
